The SD OSC Group stands for The San Diego Object Show Community group. The SD OSC Group is a testament to how web shows can create meaningful local connections. By blending the surreal, imaginative world of living objects with real world friendship and artistic collaboration, the group ensures that the Object Show phenomenon remains more than just a series of YouTube videos, it becomes a community that empowers young creators to find their voice. In this group, everyone gets a chance to belong and make friends. Even if you’re overlooked at school, even if you feel like you’re not good enough, even if you feel scared and alone, there is a place here for you. There are people in this group who will love and accept you for who you are and that’s what this group is meant to be. A place where everyone can belong and relate over object shows!!
How The SD OSC Group Began
The Beginning
Hey everyone, my name is Ty and let me share how this wonderful group all started. It was shortly after I went to the BFDI x II 2025 tour. I had such a great time meeting fans and connecting with some of the creators of my favorite object shows. I had such a fond memory of being together with the object show fans and watching in early release of BFDIA 22 and II4 Ep2 that day. Which really hit me though, is that after the tour, I would go back to my city in San Diego, and I would have no one to talk about object shows with. No one at my school had even heard of BFDI. Back then, going to the BFDI and II tour was the only time I felt like I was understood and the only time I felt like I truly belonged. After I left, I had to face the hard truth that I wouldn’t have felt that same feeling for another year. Shortly after, I came up with a plan to bring the tour to San Diego.
First Steps and Advertizing
First, I decided to call up my friend Carver, who at the time was the only person I knew who was a fan of object shows like me. When I told him my plan, he loved it, and thought it was a great idea. So both of us decided to design art for the group, and it was in that moment on August 14th 2025 after a brisk walk around Lake Murray when I designed the famous logo for The SD OSC Group that we still have today. After we got the logo set in place, we wanted to start it very soon in January 2026, but we didn’t know how to advertise to object show fans, because we didn’t know which fans lived in the San Diego area. Then, Jacknjellify announced that TPOT 20 will premiere in theaters nationwide. When we heard the news, we checked and we saw that there was a screening for TPOT 20 in San Diego, and we were so excited! However, when we got to it, we found out that the tickets had sold out!! I was so sad to think that could have advertised for our new object show group for the target audience, but we couldn’t get tickets. After a few days, I realized something: “We don’t need tickets to go to the theater, We can advertise outside the theater, and give flyers to fans walking out the door after the TPOT 20 premiere.” So I called Carver again and tell him this amazing idea, and he thinks it’s very good and asks his dad while I asked my parents. In the meantime on October 8, 2025. I decide to create the official email address for The SD OSC Group so we have a way for fans to reach out about the group. Thankfully, both of our parents said yes and on October 16th 2025, we stood outside the theater, and handed out flyers to fans coming out. Me and Carver had such a good time meeting fans and advertising our group, and overall we just had so much fun being able to hang out with object show fans again.
Our Email List and our First Event
Right after our first advertising campaign, we had so many people email us, wanting to join the group! That Monday, on October 20th 2025, I sent out my very first newsletter to everyone on the email list. After some time, I decided to plan our very first meetup. After a lot of planning and preparation, Carver and I hosted our first meetup called The SD OSC Group November Event which landed on November 29th 2025. We had about 7 other fans show up and it was really cool to see object show fans coming together as a community. December was a very busy month so we decided to schedule our next event for early January. We hosted our second meetup on January 10th 2026, the first meetup of 2026! However at this event, the turnout was only 3 other fans. No matter what, we had a great time playing trivia, enjoying the food, and talking about object shows!
The January Takeoff
Then, I go on social media and I find out that one of our members Charlie, has a dad who runs a professional DJ business. Now personally, I am a huge fan of music and I felt that it would be so much fun to have a Live DJ playing all of our favorite songs from BFDI, Inanimate Insanity, and more object shows. I decided to call him up, and he said that he would be very happy to be the DJ at our events. In that moment, I was so excited because we now had a Live DJ performing at our events! Then on January 16th 2026, Jacknjellify released theater tickets for the TPOT 21 premiere. Right then, when they went live at 5pm, I successfully scored tickets for me, Carver, and his dad. Then I went on the phone with Charlie’s Dad, who is the Live DJ, and I asked him when we should schedule our next event? He then came up with an amazing idea and he told me that I could plan the meetup 2 days after the TPOT 21 premiere. Now the TPOT 21 premiere was on Thursday January 29th, and he told me that I could get a lot of people if I advertised the event on the flyers for January 31st. He was absolutely right, because on the 29th, I handed out flyers with my friend Carver and we got so many people interested in the group and we had so many people show up to the event on January 31st, like about an upwards of 15 fans. It was so amazing and it was so cool to see so many fans show up for the event!
February 2026 to Present
Ever since the January takeoff, we have held a lot of successful events with about an upwards of 20+ fans usually at each event. It’s so cool to see the impact the group is making on people’s lives and it’s beautiful to know that friendships are being built and nurtured due to this group. I’m so thankful for all the amazing people that are a part of this group and I’m so happy with how much The SD OSC Group has grown since the very beginning. Thank you Everyone and be sure to check us out on our social media and at our monthly events that are fun for the whole family!!
